Brain Burner @ Liquid Ship, 10th April.
This coming Sunday there will be another Brain Burner night at the Liquid Ship on Glasgow’s Great Western Road, free entry as always with everything starting around 9pm. Wounded Knee, Muris, theapplesofenergy, and Iliop will all be playing, and it’ll be a pretty chilled affair.
Also, it is with sad faces that we have to announce that it will be the last Brain Burner night at the Liquid Ship. Plans are afoot for other nights in other venues, involving more experimental music and an interest in involving other kinds of media. Keep your eyes and ears peeled. Updates will follow soon, and we hope to see you on Sunday.

Ten Hours of Noise. April 9th, Glasgow.
Starting with a four hour improv session in the basement of Nice and Sleazy’s from 1 to 4pm featuring, “awesome international special guest Eli Keszler; the debut performance of a new collaboration between local champion improvisers Usurper, Neil Davidson and Aileen Campell; and Helhesten… “ it’s sure to be a noisy one.
The day then continues on to The Griffin for dinner between 4 and 6pm, where performance artist and abstract musician Iain Campbell will also perform, and then on to the CCA for the premier of a documentary created in spring 2010. “Part documentary, part character study, the film develops into an insightful meditation on the roots of creativity, collaboration and the artistic process.”
Staying in the CCA, the day ends with another four hours of noise between 7 and 11pm consisting of, “separate and overlapping sets from Boom Edan, Fordell Research Unit, Guanoman, King Rib, Noma and Opaque.”

Pitchfork is streaming a track from the new Grouper release A I A, which consists of two new albums titled Dream Loss and Alien Observer that can be purchased separately or as a double album.
“The process of making these albums reacquainted me with what I want to explore in music: friction, exploration of something large and outside of me, describing and traveling to intangible objects and places, unseen movements and connections between people and spaces. Songs that move on their own, that have an autonomous monstrous quality, songs from another world.” - Liz Harris, in an earlier interview with Pitchfork.

It has finally happened; a lot of people may have seen this coming, and even I knew this would happen eventually - after falling in love with the sound of radio static from my cheap, broken Japanese radio and the act of physically manipulating sound with effects pedals, I have created an ambient…
