The Motorik Beat.

The Motorik Beat: the rhythm that propels the world of Krautrock, the rhythm that can be heard behind almost every 4/4 song ever recorded. It’s primal and savage and never ending. And there’s a Facebook Group devoted to this simple, 4/4 pattern.

There is also a Spotify playlist created by The Cosmic Dead’s purveyor of motorix, Julian Dicken available to listen to from that page, which showcases the many uses of the beat and its many variations, from the Neu! standard Hallogallo right through to Deerhunter’s Nothing Ever Happened, with some Can, some Kraftwerk and even some Mogwai in there too.
